Toyota’s “Beyond Zero” (bZ) is a vision and commitment by Toyota to go beyond carbon neutrality and make a positive impact on the planet and society through its products, services, and operations . The Beyond Zero initiative includes a range of electrified vehicles offered by Toyota, including hybrid electric models, plug-in hybrid electric models, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) like the bZ4X, and the hydrogen fuel cell electric Mirai .

The Toyota bZ4X is an all-electric SUV developed in collaboration with Subaru. It is the first model in the bZ series and represents Toyota’s commitment to carbon neutrality and sustainable mobility . The bZ4X is built on the e-TNGA platform and offers a range of over 400 km on a single charge It supports Level 2 and DC Fast Charging, making it convenient for charging on the go Toyota plans to expand its electrified vehicle lineup to around 70 models globally by 2025, with 15 dedicated BEVs, including seven under the bZ brand .

In addition to the bZ4X, Toyota has plans for more electric vehicles under the Beyond Zero brand. Four additional EVs will join the bZ4X, and there are plans for another eight electric cars of various shapes and sizes . Toyota aims to provide customers with a diverse portfolio of electrified products to help achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 .

Toyota BZ4X

The Toyota bZ4X is an all-electric SUV that represents Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility and carbon neutrality. It is the first model in Toyota’s bZ series, which stands for “Beyond Zero.” The bZ4X is built on the e-TNGA platform and offers a range of over 400 km on a single charge. It supports Level 2 and DC Fast Charging, making it convenient for charging on the go.

Toyota BZ3

The Toyota bZ3 is an all-electric sedan developed through a collaboration between Toyota, BYD, and FAW Toyota. It is the second model in Toyota’s bZ series, following the bZ4X SUV. The bZ3 is specifically designed for the Chinese market and is produced and sold through the FAW Toyota dealer network.

The development of the bZ3 involved close cooperation between Toyota, BYD TOYOTA EV TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. (BTET), and FAW Toyota. Over 100 Toyota engineers from various departments worked alongside engineers from BYD and FAW Toyota to create the best product for Chinese customers.

The bZ3 is built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform and incorporates technology from BYD, including an LFP Blade battery and an electric engine from Fudi Motor, a BYD subsidiary. It offers three trim levels, with the top trim level providing a range of 616 km (383 miles) based on the CLTC test cycle.
